o Display Real Estate - This goes along with the "Busy Extraneous Text" If they got rid of the unneeded text they could increase the display area. And, of course, it is also possible to break one— though it typically requires concerted effort. The buttons could be easier to operate I actually love this case. I love the vintage vibe and shape it has. And surprisingly enough, it pairs with many outfits and styles without drawing too much attention. I really didn’t expect a square case to work that well from a style and fashion point of view. This watch seems a successor to the GW-M5610BA-1JF (picture here tactically acquired from @windows95 ) I don't know if this band style is a Japanese-market thing, but I am not a fan of this flat band that doesn't have the "links" where the band attaches to the module. It looks bloated, and shapeless in comparison to the normal band.The feature of permanent displaying the home time sacrificed the stopwatch somewhat. It still runs to a maximum of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, but the old module offered 1/100 of a second for the full maximum duration of the stopwatch. With the new module, 1/100 of a second is only available for the first hour (59′ 59” 99”’), thereafter the maximum accuracy is one second. For me, the permanent availability of the time in the display is way more usable. Alarms and Timer o Buttons - I like the recessed buttons, I only had one incident where the alarm was accidentally enabled (Anybody tell me how that happened as it takes two different buttons to set ) Personally, I like this watch. It looks to be well made, and for myself it's comfortable to wear. If you are looking for a Casio classic style watch I would think this is a good choice. o Smallish display - Being older, it's not always easy to read all the text, the time is fine but could be bigger and date is mostly readable, but everything else need 2x mag for me

o Cheapish Band - I like the Barton silicone watch bands as the are soft and supple. The Casio band is a bit stiff. It is durable and we'll see how well it holds up. The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. I have to say I’m firmly in the camp that the 3495 is a huge improvement over the previous modules. I wasn’t even interested in one of the Squares until I discovered Casio had upgraded the module. The resin housing is the ideal everyday companion. It is durable, lightweight and relatively insensitive to cold, heat or other external influences.

Previous Update: The English manuals are now available for module 3495 (all models excluding G-5600UE) and module 3496 (G-5600UE). If solar power was not enough, this watchputs itself in power save mode (sleep mode) and shuts down the screen to save even more power. And even without power save mode or sun, it will still operate for 10 months straight (using it 18 hours a day). So really… don’t fear any power outage here! As for myself I normally use watches for time and date only. I rarely use the extra features in these watches as like the timers, and the alarms. I use my smart phone for those types of things. To make it simple, I consider being part of the inner dial everything that is part of the module itself (every indication of the LCD) whereas the outer dial is located between the module and the bezel.Perfect for free diving without scuba gear: the watch is water resistant up to 20 bar according to ISO 22810.
